{"id":3178,"date":"2019-01-02T18:38:04","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T18:38:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recycletorrance.org\/?p=3178"},"modified":"2019-01-02T18:38:04","modified_gmt":"2019-01-02T18:38:04","slug":"recycle-christmas-trees-city-torrance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/recycletorrance.org\/recycle-christmas-trees-city-torrance\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Recycle Christmas Trees in the City of Torrance"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: red;\">City of Torrance Offers Free Christmas Tree Recycling!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>From December 26, 2018 through January 10, 2019, City of Torrance residents will be able to recycle their Christmas trees along with their regular curbside collection.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Trees must be unflocked (no fake snow), less than six feet long (without cutting), and undecorated (no stands, tinsel, or ornaments).\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>How-To:<\/strong> Trees can be up to six (6) feet long without needing to be cut. Then, place the tree at the curb at least four feet from your automated containers by 7:00 a.m. on your regularly scheduled collection day between Monday, December 26, 2016, and Thursday, January 12, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Options:<\/strong> Christmas trees put out for collection before or after the recycling collection dates, or flocked trees (with fake snow), must be cut up and placed in <strong>the regular (black) trash\u00a0container<\/strong> for removal. Unflocked Christmas trees six (6) feet or smaller can be placed directly into <strong><span style=\"color: green;\">the green waste container<\/span><\/strong> and will be collected during normal collection times.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: red;\">Note:<\/span> <\/strong>The large item collection program will not be available during the curbside Christmas tree recycling program. Remember that it takes at least a week to schedule the large item pick up, so please plan accordingly.
